'Don't buy it': the illegal hair growth product banned by Invima

The National Institute for Drug and Food Surveillance (Invima) warns the public about the illegal marketing of a product presented as a dietary supplement. It does not have a valid health registration in Colombia , so its distribution and sale in the country are under scrutiny. Find out which one.
According to the health authority, Liquid Morning Multivitamin + Hair Growth has not been approved by the Directorate of Medicines and Biological Products of Invima , since it does not comply with the requirements established in current health regulations, particularly those stipulated in Decree 3249 of 2006, which regulates the manufacture, marketing, labeling and quality control of dietary supplements. This liquid dietary supplement is used to support hair growth, in addition to contributing to the general well-being of the body. It contains a combination of essential minerals, including a high dose of biotin (10,000 µg), as well as vitamins from groups B, A, C, D3, E, zinc and other micronutrients. However, it has not been evaluated by the Colombian health authorities, so its safety, quality or effectiveness cannot be guaranteed.

The entity clarifies that the use of fraudulent products like this one can cause serious adverse effects on the body. Among the main associated risks are: ▪️ Increased blood circulation, palpitations, anxiety, tremors, and possible heart disease. ▪️ Sleep disorders, insomnia, nightmares, and physical exhaustion. ▪️ Fluid retention, localized or generalized edema. ▪️ Damage to organs such as the kidneys, liver, or skin, as well as the appearance of skin lesions. Since this product does not have a health registration, its quality, safety, or efficacy are not guaranteed. Furthermore, its true composition, storage conditions, transportation, and traceability are unknown, which increases the risk to those who consume it.
