Aguas Mendocinas updated the status of the vandalized aqueduct and the most affected neighborhoods.
"Aguas Mendocinas continues working to normalize service," the company reported regarding the work carried out since Saturday. Two departments cover the most affected neighborhoods.
Following interruptions in the drinking water supply recorded on Saturday, " Aguas Mendocinas continues working to normalize the service following acts of vandalism to the 700 mm aqueduct from Potrerillos ," the company detailed.
Thus, Aguas Mendocinas personnel continue to work to detect a blockage in a chamber located above the Pérez Guilhou subdivision. They refer to a particular case: " The two pumping systems that supply the La Favorita District depend on the filling of the pumping chamber . Due to the low level of this chamber, only one pumping system is operational ."
They also explained: "In order to operate the second pumping system, this chamber must be at a certain height , which is directly affected by the obstruction of the 700mm aqueduct." They then expanded on other affected areas: "In areas where service difficulties persist, the Municipality of the City of Mendoza and Aguas Mendocinas have distributed drinking water via tanker trucks today to minimize the impact on residents."
