Collapse, bottleneck and garbage in Horcones: almost 20,000 people returned from Chile

Over the weekend, the Roque Carranza complex was delayed for more than four hours, causing discomfort for drivers returning to Argentina.
The return of Argentines from Chile was quite complicated this weekend through the Horcones customs : more than four hours of delay, complaints on Route 7 and an embarrassing picture with garbage as the protagonist.
Some 20,000 people crossed the Roque Carranza complex between Saturday and Sunday , after enjoying their holidays and shopping in the neighboring country. To be precise, based on information from the National Gendarmerie, 8,868 people entered Argentina on Saturday and another 9,895 on Sunday. In contrast, the exits to Chile were half that number.
Given this situation, Argentine customs collapsed as in those times of high demand in January, coinciding with the return to school on Monday, February 24 .
It is no secret that many Argentines traveled to Chile to take advantage of the attractive prices on backpacks, clothing and school supplies (up to three times cheaper ).
There were delays of about four hours, like a bottleneck , with lines of vehicles on the side of Route 7, before entering Horcones. In addition, a huge amount of garbage accumulated in the lake located outside the complex, creating an unpleasant scene for those visiting the country.
Travelers commented that the problem is the lines and not so much the controls inside Horcones, where personnel from the Customs Revenue and Control Agency (ARCA) check vehicles as little as possible, compared to the rigor of Chileans in Los Libertadores.
