TransMilenio is a key transportation system for thousands of users in Bogotá , facilitating daily mobility and efficiently connecting various points in the city. However, due to construction work , two key stations will be temporarily closed . How long will the construction last, and what should passengers keep in mind?
According to official information provided by the Mayor's Office, during the weekend of Saturday, August 16, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on the holiday Monday, August 18, the Portal Américas and the Biblioteca Tintal TransMilenio station, located in the Kennedy neighborhood, will remain temporarily closed due to construction. This closure aims to facilitate the implementation of key projects to improve mobility in the city, so users are advised to plan their trips in advance to avoid inconveniences.
During this period, feeder services that normally operate at these stations will operate from Banderas Station, making some detours but without altering or eliminating their regular stops. Route F23 will also terminate at Banderas, while trunk routes 5, F32, and F60, which normally travel to the Americas Gateway, will return to Transversal 86 Station , modifying their usual route.

To facilitate user mobility, the TransMilenio system has provided alternative transportation options through TransMiZonal and the SITP (Metro Transit System), with strategically located bus stops connecting the Portal Américas sector with different areas of the city. Additionally, several zonal routes will have temporary detours and will stop at nearby points to ensure service continuity and passenger comfort. A specialized team of approximately 100 people, including members of the National Police, community managers, security personnel, and Bogotá Metro employees, will be present to guide and assist users during the closure. For more information on schedules, bus stops, and real-time updates, citizens can visit the official website and use tools such as the TransMiApp or the system's WhatsApp channel.
