Why Taylor Swift Didn’t Join Travis Kelce on His Night Out in Las Vegas

On Friday, Travis Kelce was seen in Las Vegas with his brother, Jason, and musical artist Justin Timberlake. The NFL star hasn’t made too many public appearances since the Kansas City Chiefs lost the Super Bowl in February. His girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was notably absent. The three friends were immersed in a card game and Kelce seemed to be keeping a low profile in a black baseball cap and glasses. The two brothers were reportedly competing in Timberlake’s Golf Invitational in Vegas over the weekend.

While it was clearly a night for the guys to hang together, there are other reasons for Swift’s absence. The singer’s Eras Tour ended in December and she has seemingly retreated from the spotlight to enjoy some time off.

A few days ago, a source told Entertainment Tonight, “She and Travis have been laying low, traveling, and enjoying some time off and quiet time together.”

Earlier this month, another source told Page Six that Swift and Kelce have been enjoying a “nice escape” recently, though they admit it “can’t last forever.”

“A lot of their time is spent at home just relaxing. Despite their fame, they’re really just like any other couple,” the insider said. “They like to cuddle on the couch and watch movies, play board games, spend time with family, cook dinner together and just hang out.”

The source continued, “This time away from the spotlight has been so refreshing for Taylor and Travis. They really cherish this time while they can because they know it can’t last forever.”

In the time since the Super Bowl, the pair has been “able to feel a bit of normalcy for the first time in a long time.”

On April 1, Us Magazine reported something similar, with a source saying that Swift and Kelce wanted to live a more “normal life” and they “needed time for themselves.”

They added, “Taylor and Travis are doing great, and they’re still very much together and in love. They’re just taking a break from the public eye.”
