The REE website provides real-time information on electricity system demand. After midday, demand plummeted. It fell by as much as 11,000 megawatts, dropping from 26,695 to 15,970 megawatts, due to the nationwide blackout.
The power supply was interrupted throughout mainland Spain around 12:30 p.m. for reasons still unknown, as can be seen from REE's electricity demand data. According to its graph, which is updated in real time, around 12:30 p.m., when consumption was around 25,184 megawatts, it suddenly plummeted to 12,425 megawatts.
