According to the BCR, the objective of the meeting was to share details on the latest measures implemented by the government, as well as to address various issues related to investment, competitiveness, and productive financing for the agricultural export sector. Government officials also listened to various questions and inquiries from producers.
"We are very clear about the importance of the Argentine productive sector, which is why we came to share, firsthand, how we see the macroeconomic variables and where we believe the program is headed," Pazo said, adding: " Our responsibility is to provide predictability, not prescriptive speeches. That's why this opportunity to explain and respond in person is so valuable ."
On the other hand, the head of the Argentine Rural Society (SRA), Nicolás Pino , thanked the government representatives for their presence and said: " The economic team elaborated on several topics, and we as a sector are pleased to hear them. The plan is meeting its goals. The only thing missing from this strengthening of the macroeconomy is the tax cuts, and the first thing the officials mentioned about those were export duties. This way, the government will make producers more competitive."
Regarding the reinstatement of agricultural taxes starting July 1, Pino stated: "We are committed every day when we hear from the president and the Ministry of Economy, who highlight us as the most productive and competitive sector in Argentina. And we remain the number one sector in terms of contributions to the National Government."
