Dr. Vagón arrives in Tlajomulco to serve up to 2,500 people

With 18 wagons equipped as clinics, offering, among other things, general and specialty consultations, laboratory studies, mammograms, X-rays, and even surgeries, Dr. Vagón arrived this afternoon in Tlajomulco to provide free medical care to up to 2,500 people.
The train will be in the municipality until August 23 at the Old Train Station , located on Higuera Street in the Los Ocampo neighborhood . Dr. Vagón will be in operation from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. , but it is recommended to arrive from 6:00 a.m. to receive one of the 500 service tokens that will be distributed daily.
In addition to consultations, the train also has a pharmacy where medications, glasses, and hearing aids are provided to those in need, completely free of charge.
Dr. Vagón is a program promoted by the Grupo México Foundation, which seeks to bring quality medical care to the population most in need. Last June, he visited Lagos de Moreno, where he also benefited residents of Ojuelos, Encarnación de Díaz, Villa Hidalgo, and Teocaltiche.
Meanwhile, this initiative is being carried out in coordination with the Grupo México Foundation, DIF Jalisco, DIF Tlajomulco, the City Council , and socially responsible companies such as Farmacias Guadalajara , Dulces de la Rosa, and the Chamber of Commerce.
“Dr. Vagón is an example of how a foundation, together with the government, civil society, and business leaders, is combining efforts around health,” commented Tlajomulco Mayor Quirino Velázquez.
For her part, the general coordinator of Social Development in Jalisco, Andrea Blanco Calderón , emphasized that Dr. Vagón offers free medical consultations and treatments that can be very expensive elsewhere, and she urged the public to take advantage of the benefits of the Health Train.
Ana Sofia Lanczyner , deputy director of the health department at Fundación Grupo México, indicated that Dr. Vagón travels across 23 states, reaching 300 communities. Furthermore, thanks to the agreement with Farmacias Guadalajara, the train's pharmacy is fully stocked with medications, she noted. "Jalisco is one of our homes, and I could say one of our favorites, because we have an extraordinary response and it is fertile ground for strategic alliances."
In this regard, Carlos Ordoñez , General Director of Purchasing at Farmacias Guadalajara, celebrated the agreement. “The Health Train, Dr. Vagón, not only brings medical care, it brings hope. Therefore, from our institution, we extend our recognition and gratitude. May their example inspire us to continue building a more just, healthier, and more supportive country.”
Finally, the president of DIF Jalisco, Maye Villa de Lemus , highlighted the opportunity to access quality health services and recognized the work of the professionals who visit each community.
"It is you who, with dedication and commitment, make prevention, early detection, and timely health care a reality," he noted.
