The federal government will reactivate the auction of goods and assets seized from criminals. The Institute to Return Stolen Goods to the People (Indep) will be in charge of these auctions. The funds will be allocated to health centers and hospitals in the country's neediest municipalities, according to a press conference.
The head of the Ministry of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, explained that from June 3 to date, through the welfare markets, they have delivered more than 1,463,000 new goods seized at customs, as well as 63.2 tons of items to more than 35,700 families in 16 municipalities of Guerrero and Oaxaca.
Mónica Fernández, director of Indep, reported that the first auction of this administration will be online, from the 25th of this month to August 6, and will offer 218 properties—including residences, such as one located in Zapopan, Jalisco, with a starting price of 15,239,500 pesos—and 145,429 personal property.
All of them are free of legal proceedings and are the result of seizures and confiscations from criminals, including organized crime, white-collar criminals, and prosecutors.
For personal data protection reasons, the official did not name the individuals who were involved, only saying that they included politicians and former governors, and she mentioned one state: Veracruz.
Fernández explained that all the goods come from Customs, the Tax Administration Service, and the Attorney General's Office, which are sending more than ever; we can keep up with the work
.
He emphasized that the auction will feature land, homes, commercial premises, jewelry, high-end vehicles, and much more.
The call for applications will be published today, and the terms and conditions and lists can be found on the Indep website.
As of yesterday morning's press conference, nearly 7,000 people had registered, and another 6,400 were in the process of being reviewed.
Rodríguez, for his part, explained that through the welfare markets, they delivered goods to six municipalities in La Montaña, Guerrero, such as Metlatonoc and Cochoapa el Grande, two of the most marginalized in the country.
In addition, "we brought new and essential items to 13,593 families in 59 communities or agencies on the Oaxaca coast, in places that were difficult to access due to the effects of Hurricane ( Erick )."
The government is already working on reviewing the IMSS-Bienestar staff.

In response to protests by IMSS-Bienestar staff demanding permanent staffing, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced that her administration is working on a review to regularize the workforce.
During yesterday's morning press conference, when questioned about the protests, she indicated that not all employees will remain in the system: some will be referred to state health agencies, and others, particularly staff in health-related areas, will remain with IMSS-Bienestar.
The head of the Executive explained that the incorporation of workers is being reviewed in the 24 entities that have joined the system—which federalizes services.
Particular attention will be paid to workers directly involved in healthcare, such as nurses, doctors, specialists, and orderlies, among others, he explained.
There are many administrative workers in what used to be state health institutions. Many of them no longer transfer to IMSS-Bienestar, but instead remain working in the states
.
He noted that the goal is for all workers to have a foundation and labor rights. It's a process that is being seen on a person-by-person basis
.
In the afternoon, members of the Independent Front of Health Workers (Fintras) returned to the IMSS Bienestar offices, where the labor relations department presented them with a document containing 30 proposals that apparently address their demands.
The employees said they were only able to see the paper, and the officials promised to deliver it yesterday.
They acknowledged that yesterday there was a change in attitude among IMSS-Bienestar public servants, although the head of Administration and Finance, Christian Leslie García Romero, was not present, as they had demanded last Wednesday.
