Sheinbaum responds to the arrest of officials for fuel theft in Tampico.

During the People's Morning Conference, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo addressed the recent arrests of businesspeople and public officials allegedly involved in a fuel theft scheme in Tampico, Tamaulipas.
The president emphasized her government's commitment to zero impunity and announced that investigations into similar cases will continue.
Sheinbaum explained that the case originated with the arrival of a ship that declared itself transporting a substance under a temporary import permit, but which actually contained diesel , allowing the network to introduce fuel without paying taxes and subsequently sell it in gas stations and fleets.
"The investigation reveals a web of corruption and illicit activities, which requires us to act with zero impunity and arrest all those involved," the president stated.
The president emphasized that the Attorney General's Office led the investigation, with support from the Navy and the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection . She noted that the investigation began two years ago, following complaints filed by Admiral Rafael Ojeda , former Secretary of the Navy.
Sheinbaum assured that her government will continue to promote actions to detect and punish fuel smuggling networks, reaffirming that combating corruption will be a priority in her administration.
