The Audit Office re-elects Miquel Salazar as senior auditor

The plenary session of the Sindicatura de Comptes has unanimously re-elected Miquel Salazar as senior ombudsman, in the session held this Tuesday, for a new three-year term of office.
The Sindicatura de Comptes de Catalunya is the body that oversees the economic and financial management of the Catalan public sector, with full autonomy from the Parliament. It is made up of trustees appointed by the Chamber, who choose the senior trustee.
In accordance with the procedure established in Law 18/2010, of June 7, of the Audit Office, Miquel Salazar has been proposed by the plenary session to lead the institution that oversees the public sector of Catalonia.
Salazar has been a member of the Syndicate since 2013 and a senior syndic since 2022.Once proposed by the plenary session, the senior ombudsman is appointed by the president of the Generalitat for a period of three years. The ceremony to appoint Salazar will take place shortly at the Palau de la Generalitat.
Miquel Salazar Canalda (Barcelona, 1956) has been a member of the Sindicatura de Comptes since 2013, when he was appointed as a trustee by the Parliament of Catalonia. In February 2022, he was re-elected as a trustee by the Catalan Chamber, and on March 15, 2022, he took office as the institution's senior trustee, a position he has renewed today.
The plenary session of the Audit Office, with Salazar at the head, is made up of the trustees Anna Tarrach, Manel Rodríguez, Luz Rodríguez, Maria Àngels Cabasés, Ferran Roquer, Josep Viñas and Marta Junquera as general secretary.
Miquel Salazar is the sixth senior trustee since the institution was created in 1984, after Joan-Josep Perulles, Ferran Termes, Mariano Nicolàs, Joan Colom and Jaume.
