HWK Tech joins forces with Mercadona's president to invest $2 million in icloudCompliance.

The HWK Tech Investment technology fund, which includes well-known executives from major corporations such as Óscar Fanjul and Sebastián Albella, has become a shareholder in one of the startups supported and invested in by Mercadona's president, Juan Roig , through his Angels vehicle.
HWK Tech Investment has invested in icloudCompliance , a Valencian startup that has developed a SaaS platform for regulatory compliance and business sustainability. The transaction was completed through a €2 million financing round by icloudCompliance , which joins the company's founder and CEO, Christian Crespo , and Angels Capital.
The transaction aims to enable icloudCompliance to accelerate its commercial expansion , strengthen its technical team, and consolidate its position as a leading European solution in compliance, sustainability, quality, and cybersecurity , applying artificial intelligence as a core element of its value proposition.
The Valencian company already has a turnover of one million euros and is present in nearly 30 countries, according to Crespo himself. Its intention is to increase its investment in Artificial Intelligence and incorporate new markets into its current portfolio. The startup currently has 18 employees and aims to increase that number to 30 by the end of this year .
"With this investment from HWK, we're taking a strategic leap forward: not only are we expanding our capabilities, but we're also reinforcing our mission to be the benchmark digital fulfillment infrastructure," Crespo said.
Christian Crespo founded icloudCompliance in 2019 , convinced that regulatory compliance should be accessible, automatable, and strategic for organizations. His experience in the regulatory and technological fields, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, has driven the company's growth to become a benchmark in the GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) sector.
The project received support from Juan Roig's Lanzadera accelerator in 2020 , and this new round seeks to consolidate the company as a key player in the European legaltech ecosystem.
The new partnerTo this end, it has HWK Tech Investment , a fund specializing in technology companies with disruptive potential in key sectors such as AI , cybersecurity , and observability .
