It's officially still summer (still a good month), but it doesn't feel that way anymore. Cool air will flow across the country this weekend from the north to the northwest. This will make it colder than usual for this time of year. Rain will also fall in the south on Saturday.

In the rest of the country, the chance of rain is lower, although according to Weeronline, an isolated shower may occur.

On Friday, a northerly wind will blow, and light showers will spread across the country. Temperatures will reach a maximum of 20 degrees Celsius. Saturday's temperature is expected to reach between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius. Visitors to major events this weekend, such as SAIL in Amsterdam, the Parade in Utrecht, or Mysteryland in Haarlemmermeer, should expect cooler weather than in recent weeks.

On Sunday, clouds will move across the country, but the sun will also appear more frequently. The wind will be light to moderate, bringing temperatures a degree or so. After the weekend, warmer air will flow across the country, bringing more sunshine. Weeronline expects unsettled weather to increase after a warm start to the week.

Southern Europe will also experience cooler temperatures , though they will still be warm. In Spain and Portugal, temperatures will rise to around 30 to 33 degrees Celsius in the coming days, while Greece and Turkey will see even hotter temperatures of 33 to 37 degrees Celsius.

Last week, temperatures in parts of Southern Europe reached such high levels that a local red alert was issued due to the heat. This week, those warnings have been lifted (for now). Sun worshippers should still prepare for tropical conditions.
