Nobody Wants This Season 3 Is on the Way—Here’s What We Know

Spoilers below.
Nobody Wants This has finally returned for a second season, reuniting our favorite unlikely couple—Joanne (Kristen Bell), an agnostic sex podcaster, and Noah (Adam Brody), a charming rabbi—as they try to make their relationship work despite their cultural differences. But what could be next for the duo after that dramatic finale? Here’s what we know about the possible next season of Nobody Wants This.
Has Nobody Wants This been renewed for season 3?Yes. Netflix renewed Nobody Wants This for a third season just weeks after the season 2 debut.
“We are so grateful to Netflix and 20th for giving us another season of Nobody Wants This,” co-showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan said in a statement to Deadline. “This job is criminally fun. Working with the uniquely gifted Erin Foster, this unbelievable cast of talented, hilarious pros, amazing writers and incredible crew has been a truly great experience. Go Dodgers!”
The series will continue filming in Los Angeles.
What would Nobody Wants This season 3 be about? After finally coming together in season 1, season 2 shows Joanne and Noah trying to take their relationship to a deeper level, but they struggle to take the next step, whether it’s moving in together or Joanne converting to Judaism. In the season 2 finale, they break up briefly, only to ultimately choose each other (again) in the end. “I think it’s clear that if there’s a season 3, then [Joanne] will be on her journey converting,” Foster told TheWrap.
According to Deadline, the new season will likely follow Joanne as she begins her conversion to Judaism—a storyline teased in the finale and one that will shift the story’s momentum forward after season 2’s more introspective arc.
Season 2 showrunner Jenni Konner spoke to ELLE about the possibilities for season 3: “We have so many stories we still want to tell,” she said. “We want to continue to explore the characters we haven’t really explored, and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun...and it would answer a lot of questions you might leave season 2 with.”

Bell and Brody also weighed in on some season 3 predictions with USA Today. Bell said, “Personally, I see a lot of comedy coming out of Joanne attempting to study to take the Jewish SATs for conversion. I’d love to have Joanne have to memorize some facts and crack open some books. I think that would be comedically entertaining for me to play at least.”
Brody added, “And there’s so many relatable things and benchmarks that go into building a life together that they’ve yet to really embark on that.”
Who would be in the season 3 cast?Netflix hasn’t confirmed the cast yet, but we assume Bell and Brody would have to return, along with other recurring cast members like Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, Emily Arlook, Sherry Cola, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Stephanie Faracy, and Michael Hitchcock. Fingers crossed that we see more of Leighton Meester as Abby, too.
