The trade conflict with the United States due to import duties imposed by US President Donald Trump is costing the German economy millions every day.

German Economics Minister Katherina Reiche said this during a visit to Washington for trade talks.

She also stressed that it is important to find a solution to the trade unrest quickly. "We must not lose a day," said Reiche. According to her, the trade conflict is not only bad for the EU and Germany, but also for the US.

Conversations

Reiche is in Washington to support ongoing trade talks between the US and the European Union. She met with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
