– The cooperative fenced the sidewalk from the road with chains to prevent it from being blocked by cars, but they didn’t pay attention to a small detail – complained a resident of the Kazanów housing estate, pointing out what he considered a bizarre way to implement the project. PSM in Przemyśl defends the idea, noting that the solution was introduced at the request of residents.
Neighborhood problems often come down to parking issues and the need to reconcile the interests of pedestrians and users of four wheels. The former demand, and rightly so, the possibility of free use of pedestrian routes, which are notoriously blocked by cars. The latter, due to the limited number of parking spaces, often look for another available space where they could leave their car. This gives rise to mutual conflicts and unnecessary emotions. And the cooperative, obliged to reconcile both arguments, must also deal with these.
[middle1]Such problems were an everyday occurrence, among others, for the residents of the Kazanów estate.
– The property manager, the Przemyśl Housing Cooperative, decided to take care of their comfort by introducing a solution that is controversial – says one of the residents.
It was used on the internal road, on the section from Opalińskiego 19A block to gen. M. Boruty-Spiechowicza Street. As the person reporting the problem points out, in order to separate the roadway from the pedestrian path, plastic posts were placed on this section every few meters last year. - They probably wanted to take care of the comfort of older people using the pavement on their way to church, i.e. non-motorized people, who had to squeeze through the pavement occupied by cars. Cars parked on them also made it difficult for drivers to leave the housing estate car park. Since plastic is not steel, most of the posts were damaged. I don't know anyone who has intentionally damaged their car, so I bet that the damage occurred during winter snow removal by a tractor. At the beginning of May, the cooperative went a step further and commissioned a more solid project - he describes. In the said place, steel posts were installed, which probably cannot be damaged so easily anymore, and they were connected with a chain on a section of about 100 meters...
