A new expressway will connect three regions. A major change is just a few months away.

- For now, drivers only have access to one section of the S74 expressway – the 6.8 km section between Cedzyna and Kielce, which opened in 2012. This represents only 3% of the entire expressway planned for completion. However, the Opatów bypass is scheduled to open in the third quarter of this year.
- The Mniów-Kielce section should be completed in April 2026. - Currently, work, which began in earnest in the spring, is also being carried out, among others, on the foundation of nine bridges and viaducts - indicates the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.
- Most of the planned route, over 160 km, is still under construction. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2033 at the latest.
The S74 expressway is crucial for several regions of Poland, including the Podkarpackie, Świętokrzyskie, and Łódź Voivodeships. The final sections of the new route are expected to open in 2033.

More should be added in the coming years. This includes the nearly 16.4 km long Przełom/Mniów-Kielce section (S7 Kielce Zachód junction), where construction work is already underway. This portion of the investment will cost PLN 537.7 million .
Work began in the spring. "The area for the dual carriageway main road has already been cleared of approximately 65 percent of the topsoil."The S74 Przełom/Mniów-Kielce is scheduled for completion in April 2026. Although the work is currently only 12% complete, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways is optimistic.
The future S74 road is becoming increasingly visible. Approximately 65% of the land for the dual carriageway has already been cleared. Construction of service roads continues.

Through the area of three municipalities, with interference in the Natura 2000 area, but to a small extentThe investment is located within the administrative boundaries of three communes of the Kielce district: Mniów, Miedziana Góra and Strawczyn .
- The road begins in Przełom (Mniów commune), for a section of approx. 400 m it runs along the existing route of national road no. 74, then moves south-west and continues along a new route to approx. km 8+496, passing through the towns of Węgrzynów and Pępice (Mniów commune) - indicates GDDKiA.
Next, the route of the planned road will run along the village of Porzecze (Miedziana Góra commune), after crossing the Bobrza River over a bridge, the road changes direction to the south and runs along the river, slightly interfering with the Natura 2000 area (Bobrza Valley) and bypassing the development of Porzecze (Miedziana Góra commune) and Bugaj (Strawczyn commune) from the east.
- After crossing the provincial road no. 748, the S74 runs eastwards, entering the forest complex to connect with the S7 expressway through the "Kielce-Zachód" junction - adds the general directorate.
111 km of S74 in the implementation phase, over 161 km in preparationIn December 2022, the entire S74 was included in the Government Programme for the Construction of National Roads until 2030, with a perspective until 2033 - and with full financing.
- We have seven sections with a total length of approximately 111 km at the implementation stage, with concluded implementation agreements with a total value of approximately PLN 4.5 billion - said Beata Leszczyńska, deputy director of the Department of Public Roads at the Ministry of Infrastructure, a few months ago at a meeting of the Parliamentary YES Group for the construction of the S74 expressway.
She added that most of the route—over 161 km—is still under construction. Some sections, such as the one planned through Kielce, are controversial and have sparked protests among the local community.
