A special weekend in Kalwaria Pacławska and Arłamów

The two-day festival program includes, among others: a gala concert, a folk dance, a concert by participants and an ecumenical service with the participation of shepherds of Christian churches. The latter will be celebrated on July 4 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Passion of the Lord and the Mother of God in Kalwaria Pacławska.

The goals of the two-day colourful event are presented by Fr. Marian Gołąb, custodian of the sanctuary in Kalwaria Pacławska.

"These are intercultural integration through joint learning and getting to know dances, rituals and songs from different countries; promotion of folk culture from different regions of Poland and invited countries; cultural promotion of festival locations and regions; participation in services and ecumenical meetings. Participants will also be able to visit Przemyśl and its monuments," he enumerates.

During the first day of the event, the faithful will listen to the Word of God and short teachings delivered by invited clergy: Archbishop Adam Szal (Roman Catholic Church, Archdiocese of Przemyśl); Bishop Wojciech Pracki (Evangelical-Augsburg Church, Katowice diocese); Mitrat Rev. Wiaczesław Janiel (Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church, Przemyśl-Gorlice diocese); Chancellor Rev. Mikołaj Kostecki (Greek Catholic Church, Przemyśl-Warsaw metropolis). Participants in the service will offer prayers in four languages, give each other the sign of peace and reconciliation, and say a joint prayer. At the end, the Akathist will be sung standing up – one of the oldest hymns in honor of the Mother of God.
