Another ZUS expert on duty is behind us

On Thursday, June 26, the regional spokesman for ZUS in the Podkarpackie province, Wojciech Dyląg, was on call at our editorial office, answering questions from Readers related to the support benefit for people with disabilities. From the beginning of this year to the end of May, 202 applications were submitted to ZUS in this matter, and the total amount of payments amounted to PLN 6,895,424.60, and in the entire Podkarpackie province, 8,142 applications, and the total amount of payments amounted to PLN 292,18,536.30.

A new type of support in the form of a support benefit, aimed at people with disabilities who are over 18 years old, came into effect over a year ago. It is granted and paid by the Social Insurance Institution. In order to receive the support benefit, you must first report to the provincial team for adjudication. This institution will issue a decision, which will include a point value defining the level of support need. Only after it becomes final (after 14 days) will the next step be a visit to ZUS, where you can apply for the benefit.

– However, this can only be done electronically, independently or through an authorized person, i.e. a proxy – W. Dyląg reminded in telephone conversations.

The application can be submitted via the ZUS Electronic Services Platform (PUE), the Emp@tia portal or electronic banking.

– In the case of elderly people this may be a problem, therefore in the event of a problem at the ZUS inspectorates, our employees will provide assistance in filling out the electronic application at the computer station – adds the spokesman.

The support benefit is being introduced in three stages. People with a set point value between 87 and 100 points could apply for it from 2024. From 1 January this year, a new group of people entitled to the benefit entered – these are people who received between 78 and 86 points in the WZON decision. However, from next year, people with a point value between 70 and 77 points will also be able to apply for the benefit...
