Knife attack in Węgorzewo. 24-year-old arrested at the border with Russia

On Monday, May 5, at approximately 7:30 p.m., border guard cameras recorded a driver who drove up to the border barrier in Rudziszki, then turned around and drove into a ditch, the rmf24.pl portal reported. As it later turned out, the driver was a 24-year-old resident of the Podlaskie province. The man was detained.

According to the findings of the aforementioned radio station's website, which are based on information from police sources, the 24-year-old had previously used pepper spray on a woman in an apartment in Węgorzewo (Warmia-Masuria Province), and then stabbed his 74-year-old relative several times. No detailed information was released about the senior's health condition, but it is known that it is assessed as serious.

After carrying out the attack, the 24-year-old allegedly took the car keys and drove towards the border with the Królewiec Oblast. Investigators are conducting activities to establish all the circumstances of the incident. The opinion of a medical expert will be important for further proceedings. After obtaining it, the 24-year-old is to hear the charges.
