Several drone attacks on Russia occurred between Friday and Saturday. They resulted in fires at oil refineries and explosions at factories and near a military airport. Russian air defense systems were deactivated, and the airstrike was confirmed by the governor of the Samara Oblast in the southeast of the European part of the country.

Explosions and alarm sirens were heard in several regions of Russia overnight from Friday to Saturday. Witnesses reported drone attacks and fires at oil refineries , explosions at radio plants, and near a military airbase , Ukrayinska Pravda reported.

Footage circulating online shows a developing fire, most likely at the Novokuybyshevsk refinery. Samara Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev confirmed the drone attack on the city. He also announced temporary restrictions on internet access and the suspension of operations at Samara Airport .

Drones were also reported to have attacked an industrial plant in the city of Penza, Penza Oblast . This company is directly linked to the Russian defense sector and specializes in the production of control components for Russian missile and communications systems.

Near the plant is Russia's only factory producing command centers for air defense units , which was also likely damaged, Ukrayinska Pravda added. Witnesses reported loud explosions were heard near the Diaghilev air base in the Ryazan Oblast.

In Ryazan, an oil refinery was also attacked, with local residents seeing a column of flames rising from it. Oblast authorities confirmed the drone attack, but did not specify which facility was hit. Residents of Lipetsk and Voronezh oblasts also reported drone attacks and air defense intervention, the Ukrainian portal added.
