Record-breaking citizens' budget
The vast majority of applications submitted to this year’s edition of WBO were submitted electronically (273), and on paper – 18. The majority concerned investments in the following housing estates: Leśnica (24), Jagodno (21) and Przedmieście Oławskie (19).
- We would like to thank the residents for submitting almost 300 projects. This is more than in last year's edition, which shows that the residents of Wrocław are more willing to engage in social life and want to change their housing estates - says Renata Granowska, Deputy Mayor of Wrocław.
This year, leaders submitted many projects that simultaneously concerned several categories. The most were greenery and recreation (127), pedestrians and cyclists (11), sports (48), roads (39), playgrounds (25), public transport and courtyards (9 each). 159 were other projects (e.g. event organization).
All projects submitted by residents of our city will be checked in terms of formalities and the possibility of their implementation.
PLN 2 million more than last year will be allocated to the implementation of this year's Wrocław Citizens' Budget. This amounts to a total of PLN 35 million for housing estate and supra-housing projects.
Ultimately, the projects that receive the highest number of votes will be selected for implementation - until the pool of funds for housing estate projects (PLN 14 million) and cross-housing projects (PLN 21 million) is exhausted. However, for a given idea to win, it must receive at least 100 valid votes from residents.
Wrocław is organizing the WBO voting for the thirteenth time. The first edition took place in 2013 and was a pilot program for which PLN 3 million was allocated. A year later, the WBO budget increased to PLN 20 million. Last year it was PLN 33 million, and this year PLN 35 million.
