- We are organizing an extraordinary summit of the European Council on March 6 to discuss, first and foremost, how to strengthen our defense capabilities - announced the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa. He thanked Donald Tusk for his commitment and promised that the European Union would not stop supporting Ukraine.

"We are organizing an extraordinary European Council on March 6 to discuss, first of all, how to strengthen our defense capabilities. Donald, the former president of the European Council, and I have already started preparing this council," Costa said.
He noted that Russia is a threat not only to Ukraine, but also to all of Europe. NATO's eastern flank is particularly vulnerable.
- It is a threat to European security as such, especially on the eastern border in Poland , the Baltic states, Romania and the entire eastern flank. It is a challenge for all of us. So we are building European defense, and the priority is clear - he said.
Ukraine a priority for the Council of Europe meetingThe second priority of the meeting is to be Ukraine and strengthening its position, not only during the ongoing conflict, but also in future stages.
- We support Ukraine , we have supported it and we will continue to support it. In war, in negotiations, in maintaining peace, in reconstruction and in accession to the European Union - he said.
