Sławomir Nitras "ends his service in the Polish government"

Prime Minister Donald Tusk is scheduled to announce decisions regarding the government reshuffle on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Meanwhile, a day earlier, Minister of Sport and Tourism Sławomir Nitras announced on social media that he was "ending his service in the Polish government."

"This week marks the end of my service in the Polish government. To all those I have worked with, to all those with whom fate has brought me together, especially the athletes – my deepest respect and thanks. It was an honor and a great pleasure," wrote Minister Nitras.

A government reshuffle has been discussed within the October 15 coalition since the presidential election loss in June. The changes—at least in principle—would inject new dynamics into the team chosen by Prime Minister Tusk.

Adam Bodnar leaving the government?

On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski revealed that as part of the government reconstruction, two new major ministries will be established: one responsible for the economy, the other for energy.

Meanwhile, Poland 2050 Leader Szymon Hołownia announced on Tuesday that after he finishes serving as Speaker of the Sejm in November, his party will receive the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Speaker of the Sejm.

National media reports that, according to unofficial information, Adam Bodnar, Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, is also expected to resign. He will be replaced by Judge Waldemar Żurek.
