The expressway will cross Poland diagonally. We will reach it from west to east

- GDDKiA has submitted a tender notice to the Official Journal of the European Union for the construction of the last section of the S8 expressway between Wrocław and Kłodzko.
- It is about the implementation of a large investment between Bardo and Kłodzko. This is a section with a length of 64 kilometers.
- The expressway between Wrocław and Bardo will be an extension of the S8 route ending near Kobierzyce, running all the way from Białystok.

It is about the implementation of an investment task between Bardo and Kłodzko . In the coming days, the announcement will appear on the GDDKiA purchasing platform.
The national road administrator reminds that in the years 2017-2021, STEŚ documentation was developed for the entire section of the S8 expressway between Wrocław and Kłodzko.
The task of the design office selected in the tender will be to develop a proposal for the route. The designers will analyze three variants of the route:
- tunnelless;
- tunnel (using variants from earlier preparatory work);
- additional mileage similar to the existing DK8.

He points out that the analytical work will result in indicating the most advantageous route from a social, environmental and economic perspective.
Due to the passage of time , a re-analysis and traffic forecast will be performed, as well as a year-long nature inventory. In the new documentation, we plan to use the previously developed materials to the greatest extent possible

It indicates that the documentation must also be adapted to the technical and construction regulations amended in 2022, which concern the principles of designing public roads.
The expressway between Wrocław and Bardo will be 64 km longDuring the design work , information meetings will be organized . This will be the time to submit applications for the proposed solutions. The investor will take into account the opinions of the public, and the designers will analyze all applications.
The construction of the expressway between Wrocław and Bardo was divided into six shorter sections with a total length of approx. 64 km. It will be an extension of the S8 route ending near Kobierzyce, running all the way from Białystok .
The route will have two carriageways, with two lanes in both directions and emergency lanes. In the future, the section between the Kobierzyce and Łagiewniki Zachód junctions can be expanded by a third lane, using the reserve in the dividing strip for this purpose.
The road between Kobierzyce and Łagiewniki was divided into three construction sectionsThe road between Kobierzyce near Wrocław and Łagiewniki consists of three sections . In December 2023, we signed agreements with their contractors and design work is currently underway. The first section, 7.5 km long, between the Kobierzyce Północ and Kobierzyce Południe junctions, is being implemented by Strabag Infrastruktura Południe for the amount of PLN 309.8 million.

The second section - between the Kobierzyce Południe and Jordanów Śląski junctions, 13.8 km long, is being built by PORR for the amount of over PLN 401.1 million.
The third section of 11.2 km between the Jordanów Śląski and Łagiewniki Zachód junctions will be constructed by Budimex for the amount of PLN 355.6 million. On October 14, 2024, the contractors submitted applications for the ZRID decision. The decision is planned to be obtained in the third quarter of 2025.
The status of works on subsequent sections of the S8 expressway- The tender procedure for the S8 between the Łagiewniki Zachód and Niemcza junctions (9.3 km) is still ongoing and we plan to sign a contract with the contractor this year. In January this year, we signed a contract for the construction of the section between Niemcza and Ząbkowice - the road administrator reports.
The 7.9 km long section will be built by Mostostal Warszawa for almost PLN 306 million.
For the almost 14-kilometer section Ząbkowice Śląskie - Bardo , an agreement was signed with the contractor, the Mirbud Group, in June 2024, and the value of the investment amounts to over PLN 378 million. On April 14, 2025, the contractor submitted an application to the Lower Silesian Voivode for a ZRID decision. The decision is planned to be obtained in the fourth quarter of 2025.
