He reported that since Monday (July 7), 4,300 interventions by the State Fire Service and volunteer fire departments have been recorded. He said that the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, where the flood risk was highest, was hit the hardest .

Siemoniak: The reasons why we took intensive action are slowly disappearing

Rainfall threats remain in the Małopolska Voivodeship. Emergency services remain on full alert in other regions.

- said the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.

He added that the report of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management shows that there will be continuous rainfall in the country.

The reasons we took such intensive action are slowly fading away. However, flash floods, hazards, storms, fallen trees, and ripped-off roofs may occur in various locations.

The head of the Ministry of Infrastructure explained that warning levels are only at four hydrological stations : three in the Małopolskie Voivodeship and one in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, near the Szczecin Lagoon.

Road and air infrastructure were not affected by the rainfall.

He said that the retention reservoirs stored 18 million cubic meters of water, with their total capacity being 1 billion 200 million cubic meters.

He also added that neither road nor aviation infrastructure was damaged by the rainfall.

The military has been sent to help. Soldiers will continue to help.

In turn, Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that operational soldiers and territorial defence soldiers were engaged in helping residents and removing the effects of heavy rains , including in Czechowice-Dziedzice in the Silesian Voivodeship and Paczków in the Opole Voivodeship.

Today, the Małopolska Voivode's request for territorial defense troops to support the town of Kęty in Małopolska will be approved. The Podkarpackie Voivode is submitting a request regarding Sanok , and here, General Stańczyk will also have the appropriate forces and resources to assist in removing the effects and clearing the affected areas that require military support.

- said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.

The heavy rains were caused by the Genoese low, which is moving largely over eastern Poland.
