The hospital's financial situation is deteriorating. The loss for the past year is over PLN 3 million!

The assessment of the economic and financial situation of the Jarosław COM was part of the June session of the Jarosław County Council. The councilors considered the report on the economic and financial situation of the unit for the past year and the forecasts for the unit for the future. The data included in it shows that the financial situation of the medical facility has deteriorated, and at the end of last year the hospital's debt amounted to approximately PLN 2.3 million. However, it decreased compared to 2023 by approximately PLN 1.4 million due to the timely repayment of subsequent monthly installments of previously taken out loans.

As stated in the analyzed report, the financial situation of the hospital in Jarosław is not an isolated case, as the underfunding of services provided from public funds concerns most public healthcare entities – mainly district hospitals. The data presented also indicate that it will remain at a similar level in the coming years, which results from the lack of adequate financing of healthcare services by the National Health Fund. As emphasized, the hospital in Jarosław is in a slightly more favorable situation than similar facilities, because it has a much lower debt (there are hospitals with debts of several dozen million), and in addition, it receives financial support for various investment projects from the Jarosław District Board. It can also boast of expanding the scope of services to include new types and increasing the level and quality of infrastructure for diagnostics and the provision of services thanks to the free acquisition of equipment and devices for departments and laboratories and receiving funding for their purchase from various sources.
