Will stores be open this long weekend? Some are extending their opening hours.

Due to the national holiday and non-trading Sunday, most stores will be closed on both August 15 and 17. Furthermore, most retail chains will not be implementing extended opening hours on Thursday and Saturday. However, there will be exceptions.

Kaufland noted that in the case of this chain , most stores close at 10 p.m. , and some at 11 p.m. In the case of Aldi, stores are to remain open until 10 p.m. , with the exception of outlets in certain locations, e.g. in shopping malls.

Żabka emphasized, however, that most of its stores will operate on restricted days (i.e., Fridays and Sundays ), taking advantage of the exemption for entrepreneurs running their own businesses. However, the decision to open stores will be made by franchisees themselves.
The Biedronka chain will also be an exception. On Thursday, nearly 3,000 of its stores will be open until 11:30 p.m. or later , and the same will apply on Saturday, although the retailer has not yet announced specific opening hours for that day.
