The National Center for Research and Development (NCBR) has announced a call for applications to support companies and scientific units in developing their research capabilities and using advanced technologies, NCBR reported on Tuesday. The budget of the competition is PLN 1 billion.
The National Centre for Research and Development has announced the recruitment of "SMART Path - Projects implemented in consortia", financed by the European Funds for Modern Economy programme. The recruitment of applications for project funding will begin on 1 July and end on 30 September 2025.
The total budget of the competition is PLN 1 billion. Half of this amount will be allocated to co-financing projects of consortia with the participation of large enterprises, and the rest - to projects of consortia without the participation of large enterprises. The maximum amount of co-financing cannot exceed PLN 150 million for the entire project.
NCBR announced that the recruitment is aimed at consortia planning to implement projects in the field of research and development, implementation of innovations, development of R&D infrastructure, internationalization, development of competences of employees and persons managing the enterprise, digitalization and greening of the activities of enterprises.
As reported, the implementation of the R&D module is mandatory for a consortium that includes a large enterprise or research organization. For a consortium without such entities, the mandatory module is R&D or implementation of innovation. Other modules can be implemented depending on the needs and specifics of the project.
"In the announced recruitment, the key is cooperation between various entities - both the business sector and the world of science. Joint activities will allow for the exchange of knowledge, experience and resources, which will ultimately contribute to achieving better results. The synergy resulting from such cooperation will bring benefits to all parties involved," emphasized NCBR director Jerzy Małachowski, quoted in the release.
NCBR was established in 2007 to implement tasks in the field of scientific, scientific-technical and innovation policy of the state. It is to support Polish scientific units and enterprises in creating and implementing research results. (PAP)
