A musical about Paddington Bear has been created

"London, take care of a teddy bear," say the creators of the musical about the famous Paddington Bear, who have released the first trailer for the stage show. In it, you can see for the first time what the animatronic teddy bear will look like on stage. The first ticketed performances of "Paddington the Musical" begin in London on November 30th.

The first previews of "Paddington the Musical" have begun. A teaser trailer for the show has been released online to mark the occasion. The titular bear arrives at a London train station , carrying a suitcase and wondering what to do next. The world-famous bear was created without the use of computer graphics.

It's known that the Paddington Bear will be moving on stage thanks to two artists. James Hameed will control him offstage, while Arti Shah will perform onstage. Thanks to their combined efforts, the famous British bear has finally made it possible to conquer West End stages. The team behind the bear also includes Tahra Zafar, who designed it; Audrey Brisson, responsible for the bear's physicality; remote puppet trainer Phil Woodfine; and casting director Annabelle Davis. Abbie Purvis and Ali Sarebani will double on stage.

"After many years of research and development, we are thrilled to finally be able to bring Paddington to life on stage. It takes an extraordinary team to share this special bear with the world. Our incredible performers, James and Arti, our brilliant doubles, Abbie and Ali, and an incredible group of artists led by designer Tahra, along with Audrey, Phil, and Annabelle. Their collective creativity and vision are at the heart of our production. It has been a true collaboration under the direction of director Luke Sheppard and the stage management, production, and development teams who have supported us in bringing Paddington to life in a truly beautiful and unique way," said producers Sonia Friedman and Eliza Lumley, as quoted by Variety.

The creators of "Paddington the Musical" are counting on the success of their production. It has already been announced that the performances have been extended until October 25, 2026.
