Award in SP will recognize best practices in construction

Applications are now open for the 2025 Seconci-SP Occupational Health and Safety Award, an initiative of the Construction Social Service (Seconci-SP) in partnership with the Civil Construction Industry Union of the State of São Paulo (SindusCon-SP).
The award aims to recognize, honor and promote the best health and safety practices at work in construction and art projects carried out by construction companies, installers and subcontractors. This is the civil construction sector in the State of São Paulo.
The award launch event took place on February 19th, at the institution's central unit, in the capital of São Paulo.
The award is aimed at construction companies, targeting building projects (residential, commercial, industrial, sports, port, airport, educational and hospital) and works of art (bridges and viaducts).
Among the novelties this year is the inclusion of a new category, dedicated to best practices in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), with a focus on Social Responsibility.
Cases will be recognized in four main categories:
1 - Risk Control at the Construction Site - Innovative initiatives to promote worker safety;
2 - Health Control on the Construction Site - Innovative practices related to the promotion, prevention and maintenance of the collective health of workers;
3 - Environmental Management at the Construction Site and its Surroundings - Differentiated actions to minimize/reduce disruptions caused in the vicinity of the work, during the period of its execution;
4 - ESG Best Practices (special category) - Social inclusion actions through productive and sustainable activities, aimed at workers, their families and the community in general.
There will also be individual recognition for outstanding professionals in the operational areas, Human Resources and the area of Specialized Service in Safety and Occupational Medicine, in addition to the "personality of the year".
The Seconci-SP Occupational Health and Safety Award will recognize cases from construction sites in two macro-regions of the state: the Greater São Paulo Metropolitan Region (including the capital) and the interior and coast.
Registration closes on April 25th and the winners will be awarded later this year.
"I am extremely happy with this award, which, year after year, continues to grow in relevance and arouse increasing interest among industry players. Our mission with the Seconci-SP Award is to recognize construction companies that truly care for their workers and offer safe, socially responsible and humane working conditions," says Maristela Honda, president of Seconci-SP.
