City Council buys Augusto Gil's house to develop cultural project

The City Council has decided to purchase the house where the poet Augusto Gil lived, located in the Historic Centre, next to Praça Luís de Camões, to develop a new cultural project in that area of the city. The aim is to transform the property into a space linked to literature and the city's authors.
The decision to purchase the property was approved by the municipal executive at the meeting on June 17th.
The Mayor, Sérgio Costa, said that the local authority had already tried to acquire the building a few years ago, but had not succeeded, and now the opportunity had arisen.
