The President of the United States, Donald Trump, shared on his social network Truth a film that shows what the Gaza Strip would look like if rebuilt and transformed into a Mediterranean tourist destination.
Also available on his Instagram profile, the film, apparently generated using Artificial Intelligence and lasting 30 seconds, begins with the current situation in Gaza, a Palestinian territory completely destroyed and with adults and children walking among the rubble by the sea.
The images then show what, according to Donald Trump, could be the future of the Palestinian enclave, showing a seaside resort with modern buildings and hotels.
In the same film, businessman Elon Musk, current advisor to Donald Trump, appears on a beach in the territory eating and throwing notes into the air, while dancers belly dance.
The video also mixes AI-generated footage of Donald Trump himself, first in a nightclub and then by the pool of what appears to be a hotel, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Both appear in the film in bathing suits.
The images that were released on the social network owned by the US head of state also show a building transformed into the “Trump Hotel” and a gigantic golden statue of the President of the United States himself on one of the “new streets” of Gaza City.
These images were released weeks after the US President announced during a meeting with Netanyahu in Washington that he would take control of Gaza and expel the enclave's more than two million inhabitants to Egypt and Jordan.
At the time, Donald Trump said he intended to transform the territory into a kind of “Riviera of the Middle East”, without explaining how he intended to execute the plan.
The war in Gaza broke out after Hamas' unprecedented attack on Israel that left 1,200 dead and 250 hostages on October 7, 2023.
Israel's military response has left at least 46,000 dead, according to Hamas, which governs the Palestinian enclave.
