Ministry of Defense will receive 31 million euros from the PRR
The financing contract will be signed on Tuesday between the Army and the “Recover Portugal” Mission Structure, in a ceremony presided over by the Minister of National Defense, Nuno Melo.
The Portuguese Army will receive 31 million euros from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) which will be used to recover heritage and create temporary accommodation for 600 soldiers.
The financing contract will be signed on Tuesday between the Army and the “Recover Portugal” Mission Structure, in a ceremony presided over by the Minister of National Defense, Nuno Melo.
This investment will allow the rehabilitation of more than a dozen buildings in poor condition, generating 427 temporary accommodation units for displaced military personnel in the categories of Officers, Sergeants, Enlisted Men, and Civilian Workers, benefiting approximately 600 military personnel.
Among the properties to be refurbished are the Santa Clara Messe, the Army's General Uniform Workshops and the Porto Messe, Batalha Center.
“The maintenance and recovery of heritage are priorities that the Minister of National Defense has established for the mandate”, reads the Ministry’s statement.
