A 33-year-old man was killed in an action by Gate (Special Tactical Actions Group of the Military Police ) in the early afternoon of this Tuesday (12) on Alameda dos Jequitibás, in Parelheiros , on the edge of the south zone of São Paulo , when he held his ex-girlfriend hostage inside her house for more than four hours.

According to the police, the attacker stabbed the woman in the neck, arms, and back, and also injured himself with the same weapon. The victim, a 21-year-old pharmacy student, was taken by a SAMU (Mobile Emergency Care Service) ambulance to the emergency room at Parelheiros Hospital in serious condition, but, according to the family, her life is not at risk.

The perpetrator of the crime was taken to the neighborhood's UPA (Emergency Care Unit), but did not survive.

"Military police officers from the Special Tactical Actions Group (Gate) responded to the incident and attempted to negotiate the victim's release after the perpetrator attempted to stab himself. When the man refused, intervention was necessary and the suspect was shot," the SSP (Public Security Secretariat) said in a statement.

According to a cousin of the victim's account to TV Band, the couple's relationship ended 15 days ago, at the woman's discretion. She also said the victim's family had never reported signs of aggression in the man during their approximately three years of dating.

He reportedly arrived at the house shortly before 10 a.m., already armed with the knife, as his ex-girlfriend was getting ready to leave for college. Despite being cornered, the woman managed to call her family for help.

When the cousin arrived, the man had opened the door with his hand covered in blood. She then claimed to have seen the victim with blood on his face, prompting her to call the police.

When she was rescued, the student reportedly told her mother that she would explain what happened later.

The case was registered by the 101st Police District (Jardim Imbúias), which requested assistance from the DHPP (Homicide and Personal Protection Department).
