SC Investments and Arrow Global Fund agree to Tróia Resort transaction

The sale of Troia's assets to Arrow Global has finally been completed. A deal reported first-hand by Jornal Económico.
In a statement, the former Sonae Capital, currently SC Investments, says that the process is part of Arrow Global 's growth strategy in Portugal , with the aim of continuing the work developed in the Tróia Peninsula.
“SC Investments and Arrow Global Group have reached an agreement for the transaction of the set of assets of Tróia Resort . The transaction involves the sale by SC Investments to Sociedade ACO Cedar, managed by Arrow Global Group ”, reads the statement.
The main assets include the management of the Aqualuz Tróia Mar & Rio and The Editory By The Sea hotels and the operations of Troiaresort , Troia Golf, the concession of the Tróia marina , Atlantic Ferries (concession of the public river transport service between Setúbal and Tróia ), as well as a set of real estate assets, including those with development potential.

This deal reflects Arrow Global’s interest in the region and the country” , explains João Bugalho, CEO of Arrow Global Portugal, adding that “ Tróia is a magnificent place and a unique destination, with enormous potential for development and value creation for everyone and this is what we will now continue to work on , following the excellent work carried out over the last quarter of a century by SC Investments ” .
The deal culminates the work carried out by SC Investments in the recovery, planning and sustainable development of the Tróia Peninsula , which made it possible to uniquely reconcile the preservation of nature and human presence, the statement said.
Since taking over the project in 1999, SC Investments has made a direct investment of over 300 million euros in the implementation of the Tróia tourism project , ensuring the preservation of the peninsula's natural values, the recovery of archaeological heritage, the demolition and rehabilitation of buildings, sustainable construction, the development of tourist activities in a way that respects the surrounding area, creating jobs and value for the local and regional economy.
Pedro Bruno, COO of SC Investments , believes that “this operation is the culmination of 25 years of remarkable work by SC Investments and its associated companies in the requalification and valorization of Tróia . The commitment to the sustainable development of the Peninsula has allowed the creation of a tourism project that is recognized in Portugal and Europe, and is an example that has captured the interest of investors from all over the world” .
“The peninsula’s development plan will maintain the criteria of excellence and preservation of natural values, namely its inclusion in the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve and the Tróia Botanical Reserve , which will continue to be the region’s distinguishing elements ” , the parties assure.
The transaction is also subject to compliance with a set of normal conditions for this type of operation, namely, the non-opposition of the Competition Authority.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
SC Investments is an investment holding company that resulted from the reorganization of Sonae Capital . It currently holds interests in the areas of Fitness ( Solinca and Element ), Hospitality ( Editory & Aqualuz ) and Troiaresort .
