Algarve Classic Cars returns with over 100 classic cars and passes through Faro and Olhão

The Algarve is preparing to once again host the Algarve Classic Cars, considered one of the most prestigious classic car events in Europe, on the 11th, 12th and 13th of July, with the region's streets set to host over 100 classic cars.

In its 32nd edition, this historic regularity rally, organized by Portugal Classic in partnership with the Portuguese Classic Car Club, is one of the most prestigious international events of its kind, with this year's highlights including its visit to the municipalities of Olhão and Faro.

According to Luís Brito, president of the Organizing Committee, “one of the major new features of this edition is the return of the rally to the municipalities of Olhão and Faro, cities that have not been part of the itinerary for several years. The inclusion of these emblematic destinations in the Eastern Algarve will allow participants to enjoy a boat trip along the Ria Formosa, further enhancing the cultural and tourist aspect of the event”.

The Algarve Classic Cars will start on July 11th, at Marina Vilamoura, at 11:00 am, with the opening of the secretariat, and at around 7:00 pm will be the start of the first Murganheira stage at the Casino de Vilamoura circuit, finishing around 7:30 pm.

On Saturday, July 12, the event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. in Vilamoura, with the start of the Falconeri Stage. Ten minutes later, the participants will pass through Quarteira, heading towards the emblematic Special Test at Cerro de São Miguel, scheduled for 10:20 a.m.

Arrival in Olhão is scheduled for 11:00 am, where, 20 minutes later, a boat trip along the Ria Formosa will take place.

On the same day, at 3:30 pm, the Centro Porsche Faro stage begins, followed by a neutralization in São Brás de Alportel at 4:30 pm. The Viborel stage begins at 5:00 pm, with Loulé scheduled to pass at 5:30 pm.

The end of the stage is scheduled for 6:20 pm, with arrival at the Vilamoura Casino, where participants will be welcomed in a convivial atmosphere.

On the last day of the event, Sunday, July 13, the historic regularity rally kicks off with the Liqui Moly stage, departing from Vilamoura at 9:30 am.

Next comes the Picota Ramp, scheduled for 9:50 am, with neutralisation at Albufeira Marina at 10:40 am. The route continues with a new neutralisation at Vila Vita Parc, at around 11:30 am, culminating at the Opticalia Circuit in Armação de Pêra, at 12:00 pm.

The awards ceremony will take place at 3:30 pm, at Epic Sana Algarve.

One of the biggest European classic car events, Algarve Classic Cars, returns to the region in July, this year passing through Faro and Olhão.

This year's edition of Algarve Classic Cars once again reaffirms the promotion of classic cars as a cultural expression and historical heritage, with the support of several prominent entities, including Murganheira, Centro Porsche Faro, Liqui Moly, Viborel, Casinos Solverde, Falconeri, among others.
