Children's comedy by Nobel laureate Egas Moniz in book and play in Estarreja

The Estarreja City Council today revealed the book and play adaptation of the work "Lobisome", a children's comedy written by Egas Moniz in 1936.
The work, written by the Portuguese Nobel Prize winner in Medicine for his great-nephews, was adapted into a book and a play as part of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of his birth, the local authority reports.
The presentation of the book, with illustrations by Cinara Saiónára, at the Egas Moniz House Museum, in Avanca, will take place on Saturday, at 3 pm, according to a press release from Estarreja City Council.
“This story reveals the playful facet and transversality of the neuroscientist, in a text that is 89 years old”, highlights the note, revealing that there will already be “a moment of interpretation of the work” at the launch of the book by the Grupo de Teatro Infantil do Município de Estarreja (Trama).
The premiere of the theatrical adaptation itself will only take place on June 22, with staging and adaptation by Leandro Ribeiro, closing the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Egas Moniz, which began last year.
The commemorative program also includes the exhibition “Egas Moniz – Um Encontro”, on display until the 24th at the Casa da Cultura and the concert “Alma de Coimbra”, on the 31st, at the Cine-Teatro.
