Fenerbahçe lose in injury time to Feyenoord

Turkish side Fenerbahçe, coached by Portuguese José Mourinho, were left at a disadvantage this Wednesday in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, the penultimate round before the league phase, after losing away to Dutch side Feyenoord (2-1).

In Rotterdam, Moroccan Sofyan Amrabat (86 minutes) equalized for the visitors, following Quinten Timber's opening goal (19), but the hosts secured victory in added time, thanks to a goal from Algerian Anis Hadj-Moussa (90+1).

Portuguese right-back Nélson Semedo was introduced by Fenerbahçe in the 58th minute, a week after arriving from English side Wolverhampton, led by Vítor Pereira, while winger Gonçalo Borges was on the bench for Feyenoord.

The Turks, who made their official debut for the second season in a row under the guidance of José Mourinho, will need to overturn the deficit against the Dutch, winners in 1969/70, in the European Champion Clubs' Cup format, in Istanbul to continue aiming for a return to the main stage 17 years later.
