From Pausini to Bocelli: Stars will pay tribute to Pavarotti on September 30th

To celebrate the 90th birthday of Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti, the Verona Arena in Italy will bring together great names from Italian and international music on September 30th in a "unique" tribute. Among the highlights of "Pavarotti 90 - Remembering the man who moved the world" are Laura Pausini, Andrea Bocelli, José Carreras and Plácido Domingo.
Completing the team of talents that will come together on stage for the first time to pay homage to the tenor's career and musical heritage are the following names: Marcelo A?lvarez, Mariam Battistelli, Luca Carboni, Yusif Eyvazov, Angela Gheorghiu, Carmen Giannattanasio, Vittorio Grigolo, Ligabue, Mahmood, Giulia Mazzola, Francesco Meli, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Fabio Sartori, Jonathan Tetelman and Il Volo.
By bringing together classical artists and the pop scene, the initiative will connect "two hemispheres" that Pavarotti "so generously managed to unite in the name of solidarity": "artists who had the privilege of performing duets with the honoree in the past and others who, despite not having had the opportunity to share the stage with the great tenor, attribute to him the merit of breaking down the barriers between different musical genres," says a statement from the attraction.
The concert will be accompanied by the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation Orchestra, created to "honor the artistic legacy of the celebrated tenor." Composed of young musicians of "extraordinary talent," the orchestra combines solid classical music roots with a remarkable openness to new musical languages and trends.
Pavarotti was born on October 12, 1935 in Modena, Emilia-Romagna, and died in the same city on September 6, 2007, a victim of cancer.
