Portuguese Symphonic Band closes Wind Competition
The Prize Giving Gala concert of the 16th edition of the International Wind Instrument Competition, scheduled for 5 pm on the 12th, at TeMA – Teatro Municipal de Oliveira de Azeméis, will be provided by the Portuguese Symphonic Band.

Under the direction of maestro Hélio Soares, who will accompany soloists Hélder Gonçalves (clarinet) and Jorge Almeida (trumpet), the public will have the opportunity to enjoy one of the country's main symphonic bands that, over the years, has performed in the most important concert halls.

This will be one of the three concerts included in the competition that started yesterday, with the audition of three hundred and fifty candidates in the different categories. Tomorrow, at 7 pm, the saxophone quartet Invicta Sax will give a concert in the Jardim das Camélias, at the Casa de Bento Carqueja, next to Largo da República. And, the following day, at 7 pm, the Big Band of the Oliveira de Azeméis Music Academy will perform in Praça José da Costa (public garden).
