The Baltum Festival premiere brings Tito Paris, Gisela João and Les Fo'Plafonds to Albufeira

The streets of Albufeira are preparing to host the first edition of the Baltum Festival, between the 24th and 27th of July, a festival promoted by the municipality that restores Albufeira's name from the Roman period.
"Celebrate and (Re)Discover Albufeira" is the starting point for a proposal that includes 19 programming points spread throughout the city.
Leading the bill are renowned national and international artists. On the first day, Praça dos Pescadores will host a performance by Gisela João. The fado singer released the album "Inquieta" in early 2025 – a work that features versions of iconic Portuguese folk songs. The concert is scheduled to begin at 10:30 PM.
Before that, we'll highlight the return to the Algarve of the duo Caamaño&Ameixeiras, the leading exponent of new Galician music, who will perform at Praça Miguel Bombarda at 9pm.
At 7:00 p.m., the Church of Sant'Ana hosts a concert by Ricardo Martins & Bárbara Santos. Opening the day, Valter Cabrita will perform at the Telheiro do Cais Herculano (6:00 p.m.), and DJ Sunlize will perform at the Miradouro do Pau da Bandeira (7:30 p.m.).
On July 25th, the highlight will be the performance of the Army Light Orchestra, accompanied on stage by fellow fado singer Katia Guerreiro. The unprecedented performance will take place at Praça dos Pescadores, starting at 10:00 pm, shortly after Ganna's performance. The Ukrainian composer has distinguished herself by her fusion of traditional and contemporary elements, and will perform at Praça Miguel Bombarda at 9:00 pm.
Before that, at 7:00 p.m., the Church of Sant'Ana hosts the performance "Lugares" by João Frade and João Silva. The first performances of the day will be by Nuno Balbino (Shelter at Cais Herculano, 6:00 p.m.) and DJ China (Miradouro do Pau da Bandeira, 7:30 p.m.).
The following day, July 26th, the highlight will be a performance by Tito Paris, a major name in Cape Verdean music. The artist will perform at Praça dos Pescadores, starting at 10:30 pm, and promises to bring a selection of the most iconic songs from his career to the Baltum Festival.

On the same day, Miguel Bombarda Square will host a performance by Beatbombers. The duo, comprised of DJs Ride and Stereossauro, will perform at 9:00 PM. At 7:00 PM, it's harpist Helena Madeira's turn to play at Sant'Ana Church.

The fourth and final Baltum Festival will feature the Portuguese debut of Les Fo'Plafonds. The French group is known for transforming everyday objects into musical instruments, reinterpreting well-known songs. The concert will take place at Praça dos Pescadores and begins at 10:30 pm.
The closing performance at Praça Miguel Bombarda will be hosted by Emmy Curl. The Portuguese artist, recently awarded the José Afonso Prize, will perform at 9:00 p.m.
At the end of the afternoon, the Church of Sant'Ana hosts a concert by Carla Pontes, Ruth Gomes and Cristiana Silva, at 7:00 pm.
Opening the final day of the Festival, Paulo Coelho takes the stage at 6:00 PM at Telheiro do Cais Herculano. At 7:30 PM, DJ Zé Black closes the program at Miradouro do Pau da Bandeira.
Over the four days of the Baltum Festival, the old town also hosts several other performances, as well as traveling shows. Performing at various venues, the event brings to Albufeira groups such as the French band Les Goulus, the theater company Lama (with the show "Carripana"), the musical ensemble Gata Brass Band, and even Clown Enano.
With the aim of giving visibility to local collectives, Rancho Folclórico de Albufeira performs on the first day of the event, and the newly created Grupo de Teatro Comunitário de Albufeira is present on Rua da Bateria throughout the event.
In addition, there is also space for the participation of members of the Albufeira Music Conservatory, who perform every day at 8:30 pm from the building's windows.
In the old Parish Church, the highlight is the storytelling show "The Charm of the Mouras", with sessions for children and the general public.

At Jardim Frutuoso da Silva, participants will be able to attend a "Silent Party" between 9:00 pm and midnight, where DJs' music will be played through headphones.
Scheduled to be repeated every day of the event, the Baltum Festival also hosts several installations. At 10:00 PM, the Peneco Beach Steps will host the video mapping show "A-MAR." Before that, from 9:00 PM until midnight, Praça da República will host the artificial intelligence-powered installation "Whispers."
The sound installation «SETE» can be visited throughout the event, on the tile panel at Esplanada Frutuoso da Silva.
The Baltum Festival grounds also house several spaces dedicated to crafts.
