RRP. Brussels' assessment reinforces "trageography of confidence"

The Recover Portugal Mission Structure argued this Tuesday that Brussels' positive assessment of the seventh payment request for the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) reinforces the "trajectory of confidence" in Portuguese implementation.
According to a newsletter , signed by the president of the Recover Portugal Mission Structure, Fernando Alfaiate, Brussels' assessment reinforces the European Commission's "trajectory of confidence" in the implementation of the Portuguese RRP.
"It's recognition of the collaborative work of hundreds of public entities, from regulatory agencies to direct and intermediary beneficiaries, to private entities [...]. Portugal continues to demonstrate its capacity for execution and a strong commitment to a more resilient, sustainable, and digital society and economy," he noted.
Portugal will receive €1.06 billion from the seventh payment request under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) of the NextGenerationEU program, the European Commission announced this Tuesday.
In a statement, the Community executive indicates that, following the assessment of the payment request, the Commission concluded that Portugal satisfactorily met the 11 milestones and 16 targets of the Council Implementing Decision regarding the seventh instalment.
For the Mission Structure, this assessment confirms the country's progress in implementing the plan, in addition to guaranteeing a disbursement of 1,064 million euros net, increasing the execution rate to 47%.
The seventh payment request includes 27 milestones and targets. Of these, 21 relate to investments and six to reforms.
In addition to Portugal, Greece and Slovenia also saw payment requests approved, totaling almost four billion euros.
The RRP, which runs until 2026, aims to implement a set of reforms and investments with a view to restoring economic growth.
In addition to aiming to repair the damage caused by Covid-19, this plan aims to support investments and generate jobs.
