Hugo Pereira re-runs for the Lagos City Council

The current mayor of Lagos , Hugo Pereira, will run for re-election as a member of the Socialist Party (PS). The public presentation of the candidate lists for the various municipal bodies in the municipality is scheduled for this Thursday, August 14th, at 6:00 pm, at Parque do Anel Verde.
Economist and mayor Hugo Pereira is the only candidate to remain on the list from the last election; the remaining PS candidates will have new leaders.
Paula Couto, teacher and director of the Gil Eanes School Group, was chosen to succeed Maria Joaquina Matos and head the list for the Municipal Assembly.
For the parish councils, the PS presents Patrícia Silva (São Gonçalo de Lagos), Sofia Santos (Odiáxere), Rui Maurício (Luz), João Rodrigues (Bensafrim) and Fábio Gonçalves (Baron of São João), a parish that this year returns to the map after the disaggregation of Bensafrim and Baron of São João.
According to the party, the lists, led by four men and three women, have the motto "working for the people, for the benefit of Lagos and its residents." The party's representatives will also be introduced at the same event: Maria Joaquina Matos (Candidate Representative), Gabriel Fialho (Youth Representative), and Vítor do Carmo (Senior Representative).
