A bill on the FSB's right to create pretrial detention facilities has been submitted to the State Duma — Piskarev

A group of parliamentarians submitted a bill to the State Duma on the right of the Russian FSB to create pre-trial detention centers. This was reported on his Telegram channel by the head of the Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Vasily Piskarev .

"Together with my colleagues, State Duma deputies and senators of the Russian Federation, I submitted a bill to the State Duma that would allow the return of pre-trial detention facilities to the FSB of Russia, which were transferred in 2006 (after Russia joined the Council of Europe) to the penal system," the deputy noted. "What is proposed: to grant the FSB of Russia the right to create pre-trial detention facilities and the authority to detain suspects, accused and convicted persons in cases under the jurisdiction of the security agencies, as well as to deliver and escort them, as was the case previously," he added.
