Chicken in the Top: Air tourists told what they like to treat their stomachs with in the sky

The ticket purchasing service Kupibilet found out what dishes Russians prefer on planes and how passengers generally feel about food on board. The results of the social research were made available to Life.ru.

Chicken remains the most popular dish on the plane — 32% of travelers choose it. Other meats come in second place — 19% of passengers prefer them. Fish was less popular (9%), and even fewer people choose the vegetarian menu — only 5% of respondents. At the same time, more than a third (35%) admitted that it doesn’t matter to them what main course is served — they happily eat whatever the airline offers.

Russians have mixed feelings about food on board. 13% are so happy with the menu that they would happily buy similar dishes in stores. 26% are simply happy with the quality of the food and look forward to it on flights. 31% are neutral about airplane food. But 19% said they don’t like food on planes, but eat it when necessary, while 7% refuse to eat the dishes at all.

" For many travelers, the issue of food on board is not just a trifle, but an important criterion when choosing an airline. Especially in the case of long flights. We often notice that users search for flights of those carriers where "they feed well". Good food helps reduce stress from the road and creates a feeling of care, and therefore affects loyalty to the carrier company ," the company's press service told Life.ru.

Let us recall that a funny incident recently occurred on board a Scandinavian Airlines plane . About 50 minutes after takeoff, flight attendants began handing out meals to passengers. However, one of the food boxes contained an unexpected surprise - a rodent that jumped on one of the travelers. As a result, the flight was cancelled.
