Donor Day: The blood of Novgorod rescuers will be enough to save almost 100 lives

Today, as part of the traditional Donor Day, 29 Novgorod rescuers shared their blood. In total, they replenished the blood bank by 13 liters. According to statistics, 1 donor can save 3 human lives, which means that almost 100 people have additional chances to be saved in a critical situation through blood transfusion.

Let us remember that blood is the only medical material that cannot be manufactured industrially and there is nothing to replace it with. Safe blood and its components (plasma, platelets, erythrocytes) are always needed.

The desire to help people is an integral part of the profession of a rescuer and firefighter. The employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Novgorod Region, like no one else, know that for many victims of emergencies, incidents and disasters, transfusion remains the only chance to survive.
