At least 24 people have died in the US state of Texas during flooding, and another 25 are missing, The New York Times (NYT) reported, citing local authorities.
The flooding was caused by heavy rains and the overflowing Guadalupe River. Children were among the dead, and at least 20 people were missing from a girls' summer camp.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of emergency in several counties and promised that the search would be "non-stop."
Earlier it became known that five residents of St. Petersburg suffered from the bad weather that hit the city. Despite the closed dam, the water level in the Neva and Fontanka rivers continues to rise, which led to flooding of the city embankments.
