Russia intends to further develop special operations forces - Putin

Russia will continue to strengthen its Special Operations Forces (SOF), including equipping them with the latest weapons. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his congratulatory address on the professional holiday.

"Consistent, systematic, planned work on developing the Special Operations Forces will definitely continue. We will continue to increase the combat capabilities of your units, provide them with the latest weapons and equipment, communications and electronic warfare equipment. In a word, we will do everything necessary so that your units become even more mobile, technically equipped and effective, and always be a real strike force of Russia," the head of state assured in a video address.

The Special Operations Forces of the Russian Armed Forces are a highly mobile formation that is in constant readiness for immediate use in any territory.
