Russia plans to ensure 100% coverage of the Earth with communications satellites by 2030

Russia plans to provide 100% coverage of the Earth's surface with low-orbit communications satellites by 2030, and plans to launch 16 satellites into orbit by 2025. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Grigorenko during the presentation of the national project "Data Economy" at the national center "Russia".
“Russia plans to provide 100% coverage of the Earth with low-orbit satellites by 2030,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
He noted that by the end of 2025, it is planned to launch 16 low-orbit satellites into orbit, and by 2030 their number will reach 292, and to date, 6 such satellites of completely domestic production have already been launched.
